I purchased this antenna to go with the new 778UV radio I had bought and I use this antenna on a 7" mag mount which holds this antenna upto motorway speeds, anything over then you need to disable the fold over part on the antenna as it might give you a shock when the antenna hits the roof. The coverage is really good as I couldn't access a repeater over 40 miles away before this antenna and now no problem at all. Yes it is tall and waves around a bit but for the extra coverage it gives its a small price to pay.
