Description / AL-705 Magnetic Loop Antenna for the Icom IC-705
The AL-705 is a new, versatile portable magnetic loop antenna from Alpha Antenna. As part of a special agreement with Icom, the AL-705 is now an official partner product for our ground-breaking new radio, the IC-705.
The AL-705 operates on the 10 to 40 metre Amateur radio bands. The antenna's compact design allows it to be stored in the lower section of the LC-192 backpack for easy storage and transportation.,
Once deployed, the antenna's maximum diameter of 26.5 inches or just over 67.3 cms, means it is easy to manipulate and mount conveniently wherever needed.
Maximum power handling is 20 Watts SSB, 10 Watts CW & Digital.
The AL-705 comes with 15 feet/4.57 metres of feedline, with BNC and PL-259 connectors.

Received as part of my new IC705 transceiver go kit the wife and daughter managed to hide this but for Christmas I received this magnetic loop antenna as still new to the hobby I have seen this type of loop in action K4OGO and OM0ET via YouTube and many others who have built them, well set up on the living room table in our bungalow turned in on 20m I couldn’t believe how much it displayed on the waterfall on SSB tried on both FT8/4 and SSB can’t wait to try out portable or static mobile seems well made tuning is a bit time consuming but that will come in time with a bit more use.

Having recently purchased an Icom IC-705 and wishing to undertake more field work on QRP, I have purchase some antennas, which includes the AL-705 Mag Loop.
I find it quite amazing and easy to set up and use, with some exceptional sensitivity.
I would highly recommend this for POTA and SOTA as it compact down neatly and can be carried in the backpack.
