So far, so good. I've had Alinco kit before so knew the build quality would be good. The scan rate on this is incredible so if you're using bank scans you are unlikely to miss much. The standard antenna needs replacing with something that has a bit more gain i.e. the Watson gainer. This radio is not cheap but you do get a high spec scanner with lots of bells and whistles. Programming is ok but best to use the PC interface or a commercial equivalent for ease.

I was a bit doubtful of getting this hand held , but I bit the bullet and I’m glad I did , still a few little glitches to iron out but so far very impressed with this in little hand scanner

I have had this radio for a few weeks now and have had some time to reflect on it. The radio itself is generally built well and has a customisable screen which makes it a pleasure to use, however my only critiscm is the membrane keypad which feels flimsy.

The receiver works well and I haven't noticed any overloading or issues like this that I have seen on other receivers that I own. It appears to be quite sensitive, especially for being quite wideband radio.

A basic version of the software to program the radio has been released, however the full version is still yet to be released, along with an up to date firmware update, which fixes a number of bugs.

My concern with the radio is that there is still further work to be done. I did however purchase the radio on the understanding that work needed to be done but purchased on the hope that it would be a good receiver in the long term and the manufacturer resolve these issues and that I haven't invested in the wrong radio, however only time will tell.

- Still work to be done to resolve bugs with the radio. These are well documented on various forums, however there has been talk about these bugs being resolved, along with new software for programming being released. It would be nice to have these issues resolved before releasing to Europe, however this unfortunately didn't happen.
- Doesn't feel as rugged as it could be
- No accessories are available to purchase in the UK currently (at the date of the review)

Very pleased with the scanner. Receptions has been good, scanning is really fast and the display is readable outside in the sunshine. Nice to be able to program it directly from the RRUK site but will be good to get the Alinco software which should be released soon.

i have used this radio for over 2 weeks now this radio is compact easy to use the operationdio i found easy as i got use to the firmware to use vol and squelch you have to preset them the search and memory banks are easy to use once you get use to setting them the one thing that lets this radio down is no auto mode you have to set them manually and the bank links dont work hopefully alinco will sort this out its small to take out and about which suits me

Good radio but for the firmware its a nightmare does the things i want like scanning and searchig firmware needs sorting out
