it does what it's supposed to do
Review by
I wanted something compact and easy to install in my car for 2M/70cm, I chose this but would have paid more for a similar radio by the major manufacturers. I set it up indoors first and spent several hours going through the menus and getting to know how to use it. Everything worked as it should and set up couple of repeaters on it with the recommended software for Windows. It's been in my car now for several months and still working OK, although it doesn't get much use. The other day I went to use and realised I had forgotten how to use the menus, I hate menu driven radios or any equipment really (but no choice anymore), you can't beat knobs buttons and switches. Overall it does what it's supposed to do, for not too much money.

This unit is great if you’re hiring a car but it does not give you 25w. 13 at the Most your in the band plan.
Tried on base station antenna still under 20w.

Just a little niggle

Love the size of the radio and the screen is built in the microphone, my only gripe with the radio is that the *#abcd buttons don't work when using DTMF. Spoke to great chap called Jez and he's looking into it for me as I'll probably have to return the radio back.

ANYSECU WP-9900 MINI MOBILE RADIO
Review by
Really pleased with this little radio. Perfect for discrete car installation - mine just sits in the centre console plugged into the cigar socket within said console. Programming is easy using CHIRP as you can save all the settings. I have read complaints about volume control being difficult - not so, just single press the large orange button ontop of the Mic to defeat the squelch and then up/down to change the volume, dead easy. Thev audio both on Rx is really nice and Tx reports have also been very good. Power output appears to be as specified and with <3A current consumption can be plugged directly into a car cigar socket outlet - the radio power lead as a suitable plug as standard. Overall for the money a perfect mobile radio - very pleased ! Dave G7IYK

Great size radio
Review by
Best suited for mobile operation due to the small size of the radio body and display / controls on the microphone.

Programming is easy via the software but all has to be done manually (no import feature) - this includes the settings.

The manual is fairly simple and explains all the mic buttons and the menu features - doesn't take long to read through (its' in decent English).

A few cons:

* The volume has to be changed via the menu buttons - quiet easy when you know how to do it. There is an option to add a speaker with volume control or connect it to the car audio via an audio lead.0

* Initially, the radio will display the frequency not the channel name however this can be set in the radio (due to a software glitch) in menu's 28, 29 & 30 then read the radio back to the software.
