Customer Reviews
I've used it for several hours a day for a couple of weeks.
It's shown NO bugs.
I agree with the previous reviewer: a magnetic loop is helpful, particularly for mw and sw.
I got bored of my Icom IC-R8600 and swapped it for this. I actually enjoy not knowing where the signals are. It's like fishing. You don't know what your going to catch: more old school.
For a radio buff, the standard functions are very intuitive.
The noise reduction is not as good as the Icom, however, twisting of a magnetic loop helps...
My only gripe is that it is not supplied with a fused 13.8V DC lead and plug, which I would use with my regulated power supply if I had one.
You can sit back in your favourite chair, with it comfortably in your lap.
Finally, it shows spurious broadcast stations where I live, including, one in the 2M band. The vast number of bandpass filters in the Icom IC-R8600, totally stop that... if you want to pay double, and do no "fishing"?
I'm happy.
