AR-DV10 is the world's most advanced multi-mode, SDR hand-held receiver that supports a variety of digital, as well as analog modes. Enjoy multi-digital signal monitoring on the go!
The new firmware now allows decoding of Traffic Channel audio from TETRA TRUNKING networks! (this requires an additional subscription, avalible from AOR)
Wide coverage from longwave to 1200 MHz amateur bands, including the air band and a variety of digital modes. Full support for WFM, NFM, AM, USB, LSB, CW. Plenty of signals to watch out for on the go, such as longwave, medium wave, shortwave and FM broadcasting, CW and SSB amateur radio, VHF / UHF air band and wireless bugs.
100kHz-1300MHz signals are converted to a 47.25 MHz super heterodyne IF signal and then digitized with an A / N converter. FM and AM broadcasts are digitized after direct I / Q conversion. The digitized signals are then processed by an Altera FPGA Cyclone IV and an Analog Devices Blackfin DSP for demodulation.
The revolutionary features of the AR-DV10 such as multi-digital mode reception and digital mode auto-detection have been made possible by these latest digital processing technologies and the know-how of the AOR engineer. Modes can be quite tricky, as it's very difficult to know in advance which modes you might encounter in a particular band. That's why AOR has developed a unique detection algorithm that does all of the work for you. Just set the digital AUTO MODE and even while scanning the tapes at high speed, the AR-DV10 will automatically switch to the correct mode and decode the digital signal.
Only AOR technology allows automatic detection of DMR (Tier 1 / 2 / Mototrbo), NXDN (6.25k), dPMR (446 Tier 1), APCO25 (Phase1, D-STAR, Yaesu C4FM, Alinco (EJ47U) and Japanese D-CR.
The AR-DV10 is also compatible with digital amateur GMSK and C4FM modes, as well as pro-oriented DMR and NXDN modes.

Advanced Signal Selection Function: Advanced digital mode settings provide access to NXDN / D-CR scrambling code, RAN, NAC, colour codes and location selection. For analog modes, the “VFO Edit” menu controls CTCSS / DCS tone / reverse tone / squelch types and analog voice descrambler functions.

Use the Moonraker M100 wide band preamp.
This transforms the DV10 but my disappointment is with the lack of sensitivity.
The supplied battery only has a cycle of around 360 charges so if used daily could be an issue.
Also see below for how long the supplied battery lasts.
The most important is selectivity and sensitivity which I would describe as surprisingly very poor indeed against every other handheld receiver I have.
Conclusion.
The DV10 is in principle all in a box RX but fails at the last hurdle it cannot be used for business use ie monitoring the companies trunking system because it has no battery endurance you would need several.
Dry cells of 2300MAh were tested on a single DMR repeater frequency and the batteries lasted 7 hours 48 minutes in normal conditions.
The fully charge supplied battery lasted for me on the same DMR repeater around 6 hours.
I noted a previous review noted 3 hours which is interesting.
Also note :- Mine does not show Radio Numbers on DMR Amateur Radio which is very useful to have in a digital RX

AOR SA7000 TWIN ELEMENT AERIAL, and my scanner whip, I have no issues, it's wonderful to have all band, all mode in one unit, the Auto function is fantastic on DMR, either amateur or other signals. To have the ability to RX everywhere in one unit appeals greatly to me. I can RX CW and SSB on the amateur bands as well as any other frequency 100khz-1300Mhz. CW is a joy to receive, once you get past the high learning curve, choosing the right bandwidth, 200hz for CW, 1.6Khz for SSB, the radio is a joy to use. As an SDR you can overload the front end, but using the correct antenna for the job, it's very satisfying radio to use. Out and about I use the MRW-HF100 - COMPLETE HANDHELD HF ANTENNA PACK, so I have a coil setup for any amateur band. The DV-10 is a fantastic piece of equipment, GMR/D-Star/C4FM on the amateur side. The airband coverage is excellent, Marine and commercial bands are very interesting. I love the fact that everything is just an input away, my SWL has soared to an all new level. Price is high though, but there is nothing else on the market to touch this scanner, convenience comes at a high price, but in my opinion totally worth it.
