Ideal HF aerial to avoid complex aerial-matching-units
Review by
M0PLT
The terminated-folded-dipole is a much-maligned aerial due to the 1000 Ohm balancing resistor and the belief that most of your transmit power is lost in the resistor. The T2FD aerial offers a simple way of accessing the HF band without the need of a power-zapping aerial-matching-unit. The aerial requires at least 27 to 28 metres of space to set it up, and it is best hung from the middle due to the weight of the 2.5mm-sq wire used. You can install it as an inverted-V or as a sloper.
This is my second T2FD and the WSPR results speak for themselves. 5 Watts running over the course of the 9th to the 10th July 2025.
