This is a proven design, ideal for casual hilltop portable operating or dedicated access to a local repeater. The close element spacing keeps the aerial compact. The mounting bracket behind the reflector allows for horizontal or vertical use without being affected by the support mast. Tuning for minimum vswr is achieved by trimming the length of a matching stub. Older versions of this aerial used a small behive variable capacitor. That was quicker to set but as the tuning only needs to be done once the stub is fine. I purchased this aerial
