All Heil Headset Adapter Cables use commercial-grade microphone connectors with dual-exit cable clamps that are much heavier than the normal CB-type connectors that the industry had been forced to use for decades.
If you have several brands of transceivers, individual adapter cables may be connected to each radio, so you may quickly and easily move your Heil boom microphone headset from one transceiver to another, without having to remove any connectors from the transceivers.
All Heil audio cables are wired through to support VOX operation. Heil Sound Headset Adapter Cables are available in 4-pin and 8-pin round connectors, and 6-pin and 8-pin modular-style connectors.

This worked fine without too much thinking about it. It is fairly obvious how to use it. I would recommend getting one they have made rather than building one of your own. Although you could of course. Like most cables, it seemed a bit pricey to me, but hopefully it’s a one time purchase with years of use

Can’t say much about a cable but in case anyone is worried about it, be assured this is a sturdy, high quality adapter for your radio, manufactured at the same standards your radio is. Worth every penny. Don’t “make your own”, they are too cheap to risk losing on that contest or the ragchew net in the evening.
