Not for the inexperienced

Decent antenna for the money. Instructions leave much to be desired. If you’re not experienced with antenna design you probably won’t be able to figure out how to assemble and use the antenna. Other than that it’s a pretty good antenna.

Great VFM

I've run out of room for another yagi and in any case I don't think my rotator could take another antenna. This is a great compromise, tuning isn't easy but I'll admit it may be operator error! There appears to be 3 ways of tuning 1. The gamma tune screws in/out. 2. Adjust the size of the antenna with the trombone sections. 3. The RG58 tuning stub, this is a new one on me. I think I took about 10mm off mine. In the end I extended the antenna tubing about 10mm from Moonrakers recommended size 864mm. SWR is now around 1.1/1.2 at the SSB part of the band. I had to drill an additional hole for my coax as the only hole was taken up by the RG58 tuning stub. I then covered the hold completely with tape to keep water out. So far I've had quite a few FT8 contacts, not that many as I mainly use PSK reporter to see where my signals getting to. Last night I had 8 SSB and contacts and 6 this morning. Mainly Italy and southern Europe.

A little difficult to tune, but worth the effort.

I bought this 6m Halo Antenna some time ago. Initially it took many adjustments to tune it to an acceptable level.
The package when arrived lacked tuning instructions, so it was "You-tube" to the rescue. Once tuned though it performs well as an omnidirectional, horizontally polarised, Antenna.

Works well

Brought for the new E's season on 6 as my rotator for my beam is broken. Not disappointed. Worked all over Europe and even made contact with Canada and a USA station using FT8 and 75 watts. Not bad for a Halo ! Build quality is good and solid. Instructions could be better, but fairly easy to tune. Bonus, I found my 7300 could tune it up on 4 meters and have worked several eu stations.

Great Antenna
Review by

I purchased one of the 6m Halo antennas some time ago, one setup and tuned its been a cracking antenna, it gets used on the 6m UKACs contest and we take most weekend from March to October Camping with us. Its also been up a few SOTA Summits strapped to the back of my rucksack. Its been a Solid reliable antenna. The only down side is it could to with improved assembly and tuning instructions.
