Icom IC-7300MK2 HF/50/70 MHz Transceiver
Unveiled at the Tokyo Ham Fair 2025, the Icom IC-7300MK2 is the long-awaited successor to the
world-renowned IC-7300. Building on one of the most successful HF transceivers ever made, the MK2 delivers
meaningful improvements in performance, efficiency, and connectivity, while retaining the intuitive operation
that made the original a modern classic.
Designed for both newcomers and experienced HF operators, the IC-7300MK2 sets a new benchmark for compact SDR
transceivers.
Performance Enhancements
Improved Signal Clarity:
RMDR is approximately 105 dB (at 2 kHz separation), with around
12 dB improvement in transmit phase noise for quieter reception and cleaner transmit performance.
Cooler, More Efficient Operation:
RX standby current reduced to 0.7 A (from 0.9 A), lowering heat and improving stability during long
operating sessions.
Innovative New Features
HDMI Output – An Icom First:
Connect an external monitor to display spectrum scope, waterfall, menus, and operating information on a larger
screen, with audio routing supported.
Built-in CW Decoder:
Decode Morse code directly on the radio’s display—no PC required. Automatically tracks signals and adapts to
varying keying speeds.
USB Type-C with Dual COM & Audio:
A single USB-C connection supports simultaneous applications (e.g., FT8 plus logging/contest
software), simplifying station wiring and workflow.
Dedicated RX Antenna IN/OUT:
Connect receive-only antennas, filters, or preamps to reduce QRN and interference for optimised reception.
Ethernet-Enabled Remote Control:
Built-in LAN supports control via RS-BA1 (Version 2) without requiring a PC at the base station—
ideal for reliable remote operation, including remote power control.
Expanded Frequency Coverage
HF, 50 MHz and 70 MHz:
Full HF and 6 m coverage. The European version also includes 70 MHz (4 m) and the newly allocated
5 MHz band (subject to local regulations).
Why Choose the IC-7300MK2?
Legendary IC-7300 SDR performance, refined and enhanced
HDMI and USB-C support for modern, multitasking stations
Ideal for CW operators, contesters, DXers, and remote operation
Future-proof connectivity and expanded band coverage

it's early days but seems well built with good performance, my only negative comment is i wish the buttons were backlit which would have cost about a dollar more and made operating it much easier for my old eyes

Great Radio
Review by
Moggy
Just love Icom radios, was tempted to buy another brand but I know Icoms menu system and wanted to get the MK2 as soon as they had announced it.
The 7300 I had was a great radio and I've never bought a brand new base station before and have certainly not been disappointed with it so far, using less than 20 watts had great results with it using FT8/4 USA, Indonesia and have been very happy and back into the hobby after a year off.
