Little gem

The ic-r6 is not as complicated to operate as my old realistic scanner, in fact it is more of a wide open radio that tunes easily across its vast band range. Love the fact that no bands have been blocked out, unlike my old scanner which only covered specific bands missing lots out. Clarity is impressive whether listening to UHF or shortwave so no need to carry a bunch of radios dedicated to each band. This really is like a "radio swiss army knife". Having dealt with Moonraker a few times I find them to be knowledgeable and competitive and have never had any issues.

A great investment. Has many good features, and pretty much does what it says on the tin.
Moonraker are good to deal with, and provide a quick and efficient service.

Excellent piece of kit

Amazing little scanner (and when I say little it really is little). I’ve only had it a few days and it’s going to get some getting used to as it’s quite different to my Uniden scanner. It’s very versatile but obviously not the easiest to program due to lack of keypad but having invested in the software makes it quite straightforward once you’ve tried it. Overall, really pleased I bought it.

Excellent handheld receiver...
Review by

I ordered this receiver for work use, as a wideband receiver is quite useful in interference-hunting. The R6 has a very good receiver, with very little in the way of "birdies" and a decent interface considering the small number of keys on the unit front panel. The receiver performance is absolutely in line with the quoted specifications (see the manual and/or unit sales leaflet) with good sensitivity across the board and very good selectivity too. The unit is small but ergonomically good.
The only downsides are that I would have liked it to be made from a more heavy-duty plastic, although I don't see any specific issue with the constrution quality as it is, and that it would be nice to have a "standard" stereo 3.5mm headphone socket to allow the straightforward use of off-the-shelf "ear bud" earphones.
All in all, a great little receiver, well-made and with good performance and battery life.
