The Icom ID-52E is a powerhouse dual-band handheld transceiver that puts exceptional performance in the palm of your hand. With D-STAR digital and FM modes, this mighty radio lets you connect seamlessly across multiple bands. Need to locate the nearest repeater? The GPS function has you covered, quickly pinpointing available local stations. And with its Bluetooth connectivity, you can wirelessly control the ID-52E using your smartphone. Leave the bulky equipment behind - this rugged yet compact radio is IPX7 waterproof and sports a brilliant colour display with a waterfall scope. With military air band reception, a voice recorder and 750mW of punchy audio output, the Icom ID-52E is a true all-rounder that won't weigh you down.
Upgraded Functions and Features of the ID-52E PLUS
- A new Bluetooth module allowing wireless connection to a smartphone (RS-MS3A for Terminal Mode/Access Point modes, faster picture transmission by the ST-4001I)
- Dual operation of Terminal mode and Simplex/Repeater operations
- USB Type-C connector (replacing the Type-B connector)
- Offers the same features modes and functions of the ID-52E including share picture function, V/V, U/U, V/U dualwatch, band scope with waterfall display and much more
The expanded DR function makes D-STAR and FM repeater communication easier to use. Combined with the GPS function, selection of an available local repeater is available with a couple of button pushes.
Connect the ID-52E to the Internet through a Windows PC or an Android device. The Internet gateway enables you to access the D-STAR repeater network.
You can connect to an Android device through Bluetooth. With the Android device together with the RS-MS1A Remote Control Software installed, you can wirelessly control the ID-52E to change operating frequencies and other settings.
Airband reception is expanded from VHF to UHF military Airband (225 to 374.995 MHz). FM broadcast stations can be listened to while using the dual watch function.

Well bring in the new ID52 i stick yourself into a new league of handheld radios, it is super easy to use and full of features. The bluetooth and USB C charging is what has been required for many years.
The nearby repeater function works flawless and the scan abilities are just out there if not more than other handheld.
Ok its a £549 radio at the time of purchase but what it offers in features and quality i am pretty sure this ID52 Plus is going to be the ever lasting handheld in my collection.
