Excellent especially for the price

Having seen YouTube users with them thought I'd try one - have to admit my expectations weren't high, but the performance especially on 80m, 40m & 30m well exceeded my expectations.

Been using a home made 9:1 for a random wire antennas when portable wanted a smaller unit for the go bag so the LDG range has made it into my collection along with a 4:1.They all work out the box as they should next on the list is a 1:1 unit as again using a home made choke on my portable set-up.

Good 9:1 unun but mine came with quality issues
Review by

The TDG 9:1 Unun is great when using random wires. This unit is not waterproof so it will need additional work to do this. I was very disappointed that the toroid is left hanging inside the casing by the wires. If you shake the case slightly mine rattles. The wire windings on the toroid are messy and very unevenly spaced too. After sorting these quality issues out by myself, it works as advertised. Would I recommend this unit, probably not. I only bought it as I couldn’t be bothered to built one myself as it was required for an urgent project. There are much better, quality units out there or if you have the time, you could very easily make one by yourself with a much higher power rating for fraction of the cost.

I have been using the LDG 4:1 balun and need a 9:1 for my new endfed antenna. I expect that it will work as well as the older balun.

Now matching my long wire antenna on all bands

Great value for money and a simple solution to auto/manual matching difficult loads. Banana plug type connectors are OK, would have preferred wing nut type connectors but for the price I can't complain. Would recommend.
