There is a Jack plug input on this pre amp. The makers seem to want you to use this as the cover for the battery requires 4 screws to undo and the find that there is no battery compartment and you have to fit the battery in the space which is awkward. As I am using in a handheld scanner I need to be able to use battery power on this preamp. Have yet to see how long the battery lasts.
