Not that difficult to use once you read the instructions and set it up. Works ok, haven't tested the range yet but I can hear broadcasts on ch 16 etc.

Dead easy to use as straight hand held, although slightly confusing instructions for setting up Dual & Tri Band scan. but managed to muddle through. Good sized screen. Receiver sound is clear and transmitted speech was received 5x5 although in a ( reasonable sized ) marina. At least as good as the rather elderly Icom handheld we have on the boat. For the money, excellent value
