A nice portable antenna that thows a few suprises

i have been pleasantly surprised in how these little loops perform. I have mainly used it for rx and it is very simple to tune.I have made a few qontact on it on 20m but gennerally its quite difficult to get through.Compered to a miracle whip, i think it is better and more robust. A mobile whip will out perform it but, the whizz loop is very compact. Latest contact with it was on 6 metres into italy whilst indoors which was good fun.
This antenna is now an integral part of our kit for amateur radio demonstrations to schools around the southeast of the uk. We have yet to try it out on the mountains.
Over all, A fun little antenna and easy to tune. Don't expect lots of dx but, you will make contacts with it. QRP is addictive. This antenna will pleasantly surprise you
