Seems (and certainly feels) to be well built with good tolerances and a robust coating of the steel.

I am really pleased with my purchase. The tripod is well designed and solidly built and was delivered the following day.

I’ve got to admit when the delivery driver brought this tripod to my door I never once thought it was my order from Moonraker and wondered what it could be in such a big box? When I opened the box, to say I was surprised is an understatement. This tripod is built like a Tank. I mean this is a really heavy duty piece of kit. The legs on it are double braced on each leg and the legs are about an inch and a half thick. The quality and finish of this tripod and attention to detail are just amazing for the price paid. The mast that is part of the tripod, can be raised to about 3 metres and you can even take out the top section and slot in a 32mm fibreglass pole with ease if you wanted to use a VHF/UHF beam portable. Although the tripod is heavy duty, I would recommend guying it off, if your up on a hill somewhere, so the wind has no chance of blowing it over with your beam attached to it. I was not expecting the quality to be as good as it is and I would highly recommend it for home use or portable operation. Well done Moonraker. I brought this tripod to attach a new antenna to so I could place it in my loft. It is good quality, study and does exactly what I want it to do.

I bought one of these for throwing in the commute car so that I could take part in the 2m UKAC when I am working away from home.

It's a surprisingly sturdy and stable platform. It supports my 2m 11 element yagi no problem. As a result, I've found myself also using it with the mobile shack more than the 10m pump up mast. It's just so easy to put up and bring back down.

As an added bonus, the top section can be removed and the GRP-150 fibreglass pole fits perfectly. This gives a non-metalic top section for use with vertical yagis.

Excellent value for money.
