Good quality radio with many useful features.

Bought two units from moonraker.
I advise buying the leather cases too to protect your expensive new investment highly recommended.
No issues but would advise ask moonraker to increase FM deviation up to 510 (service tune mode)if using for UK CB band (EU 2.00khz spot on) for 2.20khz deviation ,gives it more compatible with the older CBs in terms little louder transmit audio.

RF power was spot on 1w/4w/8w* export from box

Stock antenna ok for short range 1-3miles ok
and again advise to get longer ones when purchasing Moonraker have longer TNC types in stock.
Radios is commercial grade and rugged.
Ctcss,DCS single and split subtones available for private communitions and less interference now more CB sets supporting this feature,game changer.
Ideal for future CB VoIP,repeater parrots access too.
To e control found very useful ,set +5 nice sharp FM audio on Rx.

I cannot fault Inc repeater shift (export mode) for EU uses abroad in DE band.

Car kit really handy item included to convert for HT to car mobile mode and external antenna (recommend Moonrakers Sirio mega 4000 on a diamond magmount )

Am sounds very nice too for EU use,being a engineer I checked it and can easily achieve 95% modulation clean in high power upto 16-20w peaks pep!
Nice punchy Am.

Drop in charger pods option extra I purchased but not nessary as can recharge using supplied clip on adaptor included but was nice extra.

Unfortunately moonraker did not do the President own tape antenna (I couldn't find it ?)
But that's also worth a look at too to improve antenna efficiency or as said Moonraker can supply another longer antenna TNC antenna HYS on their website.

I tested the Rx performance on a rf Sig gen and confirm set is very sensitive on both Am and FM modes,on par with commercial gear!

Highly rated for light business users using the ctcss or DCS feature or Pro-users wanting a bit more privacy or interruptions for normal CB traffic or QRM noise.
Use with Harrison 2/George 2
Or any other CB with ctcss DCS sub tones system.
One of the big selling reasons I bought them for this and future VoIP CB applications.

These may not be the cheapest sets out there for CB or Personal Uses,but highly recommended for end users wants commercial grade feel and build,added features other manufacturers cannot offer on current product ranges.

Tip: If want to squeeze a bit more performance out of set
Construct own counterpoise wire 9ft long on a crimp ring terminal wire connector.
These pop over the TNC socket ,screw your stock antenna over ring to make a firm joint ,and I'll get about 3-S points more tx/Rx roughly!
About 18dB gain lol ,not bad for a bit of wire counterpoise.
Handy if operating on Fringe coverages where need maximum ranges.
Watch out for trip hazard on wire lol.
I'm surprised nobody sells these counterpoise wires for CB HTS ?

You won't be disappointed with Randy 3 performance and build quality and ctcss DCS features that not many other brands support this feature,plus it does have some hidden optional features available too for export/ham uses.
Very pleased by my pair so far cannot fault them,I've used them in some very isolated areas where cell GSM,GPS has not worked and could still here local stations could stay in contact with just in case.
For outdoor users worth weight in gold Vs a cellphone
If in groups or setting up a base camp and need on the ground long range communications.
Cannot wait to try them with new George 2 in CTCSS mode soon.

Very good quality receiver & transmit was told by other ppl that i have spoken too.

It is by far the best hand held radio I have ever owned. All the latest tech with scanning and auto sensing squelch and much more. Very easy to use and perfect for mobile use in car or as a base as it comes with a cig charger and exterior antenna pl259 plug. It can also be charged at home on AC 220v. Good quality receiver and transmit also. Very impressive for such a small unit.
