But if you want to listen to air band am it's ok but not the best. Usable though.
Mine had a birdie right in the middle of marine band, even without the aerial connected, so maybe look elsewhere if your into that. Your experience may be different.

This handheld is just brilliant for the money. I'm sure it doesn't perform like a Yaesu or Icom handheld, but then it comes at a fraction of the cost. Lots of stuff online about firmware updates that give it even more functionality than out of the box, and for price it just can't be beaten. Easy to read display that is a reasonable size. if you break it, lose it or whatever its super cheap to just replace it. Totally recommend.
