Works well I use a filter on mine as it's meant to help stop any interference. I had the pre amp version before. I found I don't use the pre amp so went for the cheaper version. Same power on fm etc.

Brilliant for very little money!

This little amplifier is amazing for the money. I use my amp on the 10m band with a Low Pass Filter inline which I highly recommend others do too, as the output signal is extremely dirty without one. Mine is the RM KL-203 version which is Black and not Red as in the picture (without the preamp) as in my opinion the preamp is complete waste of time if you can’t control the gain. Never overdrive these amplifiers and they will give you many, many years of good service. I only input between 2-4 watts max and I have had fantastic signal and audio reports back. I would highly recommend these little amps to anyone that already has a good antenna, tuned and installed properly. If you are using one of these amps with a poorly tuned and installed antenna, with an overdriven amp, then don’t blame the amp for the poor results you will most definitely get from it. It’s a brilliant bit of kit for the money and definitely gives you the edge when making those long distance calls. Highly recommended!

the bread and butter of amps

I should think these little things sell like hot cakes and why not there cheap and practical, it works out around 65p per watt delivered and as others have said 8w is enough to get the max quoted output from it, every radio I own has one of these connected and in most cases that's adequate to get the job done, after this unit the price per watt becomes less favourable.
to recap its a great product, at disposable money which will last you for years

Works well with a low powered transmitter 4w will give you 70w and 8w gives you 100w.
