A cheap good radio

I have had this radio a few weeks now and have managed a few QSO's. Most recently on a SOTA activation. Great TX reports with 60 miles being managed. However, RX was a bit off, with some loss. Yes I could have turned the squelch off perhaps. Any recs for an antenna to test with it?
If you want a no thrills radio, with air band as a add on, then give it a go. It ain't going to break the bank.

Good little radio, easy to program using the software in the link on this page. Rugged feel to it. Programming is done by a normal kenwood style plug same as the one used to program the uv 5r. Yes I recommend this radio

Can’t get it to scan. Doesn’t come with software or programming cable. Haven’t been able to locate the programming software online. Airband is mediocre.

Bit of a disappointment. I know it’s not meant for solely airband, but it really doesn’t work very well. Squelch stays off after RT making a hiss after every transmission. I’m unable to get it to scan memory channels, despite the manual saying it does. It doesn’t come with the programming software or a programming cable, and these are hard to find. I’ve looked. Wouldn’t really recommend this radio. One bonus is that you can program it using the keypad.
