The Sirio SY 27-4 is a very strong but lightweight, high gain quality, Yagi antenna that won't break the bank. It is well constructed and gives great performance on 26.9-27.5 MHz.

The SY27-4 is easily adjusted to cover up to 29MHz in the 10 metre Amateur Band.

I wanted something for 10m , not too expensive…I was recommended to try a Sirio antenna. Not being a fan of gamma matches , but I decided to purchase one anyway …it arrived quickly from moonraker …all parts were labelled in little bags …information sheet on how to set up gamma and also the lengths to cut the element tips for , depending which part of the band you wanted ..from CB upto top end of 10m ….i cut mine for 29mhz as I wanted to use it with my vintage AM gear …sad but there you are …..anyway I assembled it from a ladder on my small pump up ex military mast and it went together easily ….at only 2.6m above ground level swr was 1.1 …in fact it was low from 28mhz up to 29.7 mhz …not sure if that’s is a good sign …anyway it seems to work fine , many USA stations worked on Ssb and AM ….so if you want a reasonable antenna for a reasonable cost I would recommend the Sirio.

Very good quality antenna had one many years ago and sold it hence why I purchased another one take you time and assemble it correctly and you will have no problems in the performance of these SY 4 beams.

Super 10m Yagi

I purchased the SIRIO SY-4 for 10m amateur band use from Moonraker. It was erected at 12m AGL on my Tennamast in February 2024. It was easy to resonate the antenna on 28100 using the gamma match, and the antenna is usable right up to 29 MHz without using any external tuner. I drilled holes in the elements to achieve resonance on the 10m band as a preference to cutting them. The performance on 10m is excellent - comparing any signal that is S5 or less on the SY-4 the signal is often inaudible on my other wire antennae (OCFD 80m and Inverted L 160m) so that comparision speaks for itself in terms of performance. With the antenna set up for 10m operation I do find that on 12m, whilst the SY-4 will tune with the internal ATU in my radio, it underperforms on that band when compared with my wire antennae. 73 Phil G4OBK
