It comes really well packed. Each element is fixed with 2 grub screws so it is best assembled inside.
The elements do go well into the socket on the boom I was really impressed by that and that the SO239 had a good shoulder that gave confidence that the self amalgamating tape would seal.
The "U" bolts worked well with my 50mm mast and because the antenna boom is fixed with 4 "U" bolts it stays at 90 degrees to the mast.
I tuned it at ground level by pointing it at the sky. The Gamma Match gave me a really good match (once I swallowed my pride and read the information sheet).
Mine is set horizontal but I would work equally well vertical because all the aerial is in front of the mast.
