I'm just setting up my Sea Cadet Unit to follow the Communications Information Systems (Radio) syllabus for which I am an instructor. Wanted a mobile base station for use with our hand-held radios.
Was very grateful to Moonraker for advice about necessary equipment to attach to my radio and achieve this. My original choice of mount out of stock and this was suggested.
It has a good, strong magnet and really effective rubber cushioning. Following advice from Moonraker I put the base & antenna on a foot square steel plate as a ground plain & it seems bomb-proof.

I'm a complete newcomer novice, so went to the shop, took advice and bought this recommended unit. So far it's been great, very firm fitting on roof, even on a wet roof, doesn't move even at legal speed limits.
