Description / Watson W-8681 MK2 - Wireless Weather Station

This is a wireless weather station that requires no connecting cable between the LCD monitor and the remote weather sensors. The range depends upon local obstructions but the normal 200-300ft range will satisfy most requirements. The time and date are locked to the German DCF longwave atomic standard signal (can be received in the UK) so the time is always correct. This weather station offers amazing value and comes with everything you need to set it up in the garden. All hardware is included and the only item you need to provide is a short mast to attach the supplied stub mast and sensor assembly to, 3 x AA cells for the LCD panel and 2 x AA cells for the outside transmitter. The LCD display is touch operated and allows comprehensive adjustment and correction for your location. It can also display historic data, and within the menu you can select imperial or metric values. Also included is a software program that allows you to link your LCD panel to your PC via the included USB lead. From here you can not only program the LCD panel, but you can also download stored data and then display it in database format for keeping your own weather history. And if you are in an area or situation where weather plays a critical part, then you can switch on an alarm that can be triggered by any of the data sensors. Power source: DC Voltage from internal batteries.

Excellent weather station

I have had a previous generation of this weather station for well over ten years, unfortunately the weather took its toll and I have had to replace it. The mk2 is almost exactly the same with the added benefit of no unsightly cables and connection to the atomic clock in Germany resulting in bang on time keeping to the second. The outdoor unit is compact and very tidy, the indoor unit has easy read display giving evey piece of information required. I its as good as my last unit I will be a happy man.

Weather Station

I got my first one of these Weather Stations about 12 years ago. It done a good year until things started to fail. The new Weather Station is same model but much improved. No cables to connect each part plus a solar panel and batteries are much better to change. Much smarter look and is working well.

Excellent value for money.

Installation was straightforward but the set screws on the wind vane and speed cups need a decent screwdriver. Easyweather software is OK but not as good as "Cumulus" (free) which is my preferred program. Anyway all working well and I'm pleased with this weather station
