G106 is a 5W portable QRP model with SDR circuit structure which uses 16bit-CODEC sampling and can deliver superior performance. The whole machine has SSB/CW/AM three modes and extra WFM (88~108MHz) receiving function, allowing you to listen to local FM broadcasts while communicating. Equipped with a CW digital filter with three bandwidths, it can help you connect to more and farther radio stations. With the external DE-19 digital adapter (optional), it can be easily connected to the computer and complete FT8 communication.
As an entry-level portable SDR transceiver, G106 will be a good helper for you to play CW and FT8.

Cracking lil rig at a very low price

Solid build, easy to use menus. Display is awesome for its size. You will need to mod the stock mic, drill a 2mm hole above the mic cartridge, otherwise you sound muffled on ssb. Aftersales service from Moonraker is superb, I couldn't figure out how to upgrade the firmware, they talked me through it and emailed loas of instructions. So, if you are considering a qrp hf rig, then put this on your list.

I wanted a small QRP set that I could throw in a rucksack and take out with me with little hassle. The Xiegu G106 has not failed to provide and I've made some good contacts already. I like how you can operate with QSK off (using the radio as a morse oscillator) for practice etc. I've only used it in CW mode so far, but have received well on SSB. I wish it was easier to operate digital modes, but so far have not explored this extensively. Well worth the money!

ive had a quick play with the rig without an antenna ...feels good in the hands appears to be robust for portable use, the controls work well enough although I would have liked a way to swap A/B vfos with one button rather than going into the menu system but hay hoe could be worse....ill update again when I get a chance to play on air :-)

Nice compact HF rig at a very competitive price and just the sort of package to take away on holiday or up into the hills, if this is your pastime. Excellent service from Moonraker - well packed and overnight delivery.
