FT-4X – VHF/UHF Dual Band FM Handheld Transceiver

The FT-4X 2 meter/ 440 MHz HT has three output power levels: 5, 2.5 or 0.5 watts transmitting from 144 to 146 MHz and from 430 to 440 MHz. Receive coverage is 65-108 (FM broadcast band), 136-174 and 400-480 MHz.

The FT-4X is compact and light, yet ruggedly constructed.

The speaker provides a full 1 Watt of powerful, clear audio.

The supplied 1750mAh Li-ion battery pack is capable of up to 15 hours operation (TX 5 seconds, RX 5 seconds, Standby 90 seconds). The SBH-22 3.5-hour rapid charger is included.

VOX operation is available with the optional SSM-512B earpiece microphone.

Yaesu ft 4xe. Brilliant little analogue 2- 70cm radio great rx-tx audio nice size. And the supplied little rubber duck antenna works fantastic. I Would recommend this radio and under £60 .if your looking for a nice simple radio with great audio that works well then you can't go wrong with this little beauty from yaesu

Pocket rocket ft4x

I love this little everyday carry. Whilst I also own the FT3D, I find it a bit too delicate for daily use — I’ve already had to replace a damaged touchscreen. The FT4X, on the other hand, is compact, rugged, and powerful. It feels solid in the hand and can easily handle the bumps and knocks of daily life.
The antenna performs well, and it comes with a convenient charging dock. Programming is surprisingly easy, no need for a computer.
5 stars from me.

Good quality, good value and pocket size

After buying a FT-65 I decided to buy the FT-4XE as an every day carry radio
Like it's big brother the FT-65 the FT-4XE is a quality item and light but not cheep feeling.
It is also slightly smaller and lighter than the FT-65.
Mine goes in my coat pocket or briefcase every day and works very well on both repeaters and simplex.

Excellent small fm VHF uhf handheld. Feels good in the hand. Small enough for a pocket. Excellent audio. Feels more solid than my Baofeng and Quansheng. Better at receiving as well. Not as easy to program, either on the radio or using the software. Excellent value

Why pay more for analogue FM?

The Yaesu FT4X has been described as a Baofeng done right, and that sums it up. The radio puts out a clean, regulations-compliant signal, and the receiver is very good for a direct conversion device. For someone like me, who sees relatively little utility in amateur VHF/UHF, there is really no point in spending more. Unless you need digital voice, or, say, AM airband monitoring, the FT4X is an excellent choice for a handheld transceiver.
