Customer Reviews
The 65 feel sold, is light but not cheep feeling and is easy to use and easy to program with chirp.
I checked my and the FT-65 was cheeper in monatry terms (then Vs now pricing without accounting for inflation) the the FT-60 was fifteen to twenty years ago.
All in all I am very pleased with the FT-65 and as always Moonrakers service is second to none.
It is
This is my first Yaesu. I am very happy having it in my collection. It is more expensive than the other HTs I have (not yet having decided whether to plunge into DMR and the more expensive radios) but it is nevertheless a very good buy.
The contacts I have made have particularly commented on the quality and clarity of transmissions.
It is compact, well made, easy to use and ideal for simple 2m and 70cm activity. And from a “recognised brand”.
Like one of the other reviewers, I have used for SOTA, and I have felt confident taking the radio into adverse weather due to its build quality.
Also at the same time purchased a hands free and car charger.
The complete package gives me great flexibility.
Setting up was easy, CTCSS was a little challenging, fixed by reading the advanced notes easily downloaded.
The power output checked on power meter and was good.
The RX sensitivity was excellent.
Many of my friends purchased handhelds with great comprehensive specs but admit they don’t use most of the features.
Many thanks to Alex who talked me through the option's and I now have a rig which is simple, flexible, great performance, value for money ,
Performance is good. AF audio is decent and seems to sound good on the air. RF rejection seems good too.
Easy to use and program from the keypad. Just a plain and simple analog HT that beats a Baofeng and is cheap to buy.
I’d buy another if I lost it ????
