What can I say! This is an all round good egg! Its display is fantastic and the fact you can plug in an external monitor is brilliant. The menu on it is so much easier to use than my FT991. Yaesu have really pulled their socks up! The filtering is great. The tuner is pretty good at matching as long as your swr is within 3:1. I think the price for this radio is brilliant. At time of review this radio is number 3 in the Sherwood Engineering Test Chart! I would recommend this as an entry level or even someone who has little space in their shack for a big transceiver.

Two days in to owning this radio and I know I didn't make a mistake. The SDR receiver is absolutely superb. I suffer with S9 noise level on most HF bands and with all the controls and filters I can now hear and work stations for the first time in many years.
This is by far the best radio I have ever owned.

Extremely happy with this full SDR radio. Receive performance is outstanding for the price! The guys at Moonraker are very friendly, helpful, and did a great part exchange deal on my old FT 920.

Very pleased with this radio, I do enjoy Yaesu products. Menu system is really easy to use and self intuitive with a nice clear display. Excellent receive audio and have had good reports back on transmit, Fast next day delivery.

Been saving hard to get this radio and for the few hours I had it powered up what can I say, came very well packed from Moonraker we ordered it on the 2nd January late in the evening it arrived yesterday 4th January via Fedx. The Aess system sound fantastic time to get the manual out I think, going to be a big upgrade over my FT818,

User interface could be better

I have had the Ft-710 for about 4 months now. Initially it was quite buggy and out of frustration I stopped using it but the December firmware update fixed many of the problems. As well as the reported fixes in the update release notes, it fixed problems with recalling named memory channels and crashes when replaying recorded QSOs Hopefully a further firmware update will allow adjustment of the menu display times and give more consistency in the user interface to cure some other minor niggles. The spectrum scope needs better averaging on the FFT display to make it useful. Also the DNR is pointless above level 3, making speech unintelligible. The receiver performance is indistinguishable from the Ftdx-10, (except for the DNR, which seems much better sorted on the FTdx-10) making it good value for money. This rig was meant to be a replacement for my Icom IC-7300, but for sheer usability and intuitive user interface, the Icom is still my goto rig!. Instead, the FT-710 became a replacement for my Ftdx-10.
