Il you have bought the Yaesu FTX-1 field or the Optima this is the one accessory that you should buy. The guard is constructed from hard plastic ensuring and secured with two screws. The fit is very snug around the head unit and the guards carful design allows you to operate the radio without your fingers catching the guard edges. There is no fear of damaging the front shout the radio tip face down. A great addition to a great radio!
