Very disappointing.

I bought one of the 4M Wouxun Tribander hand-helds just over a week ago.
When you take it out of the box, it seems a sturdily-made transceiver, with a long list of claimed features and capabilities.
So with the battery and and antenna installed, you fish out the instructions and turn it on.
What happens next, reminds me very much of a period of previous employment in trading-standards.
A lot of what you see written about You can't use.
A lot of what are claimed features of the radio. You can't use. or in some cases even find.
Why is that? I think it's because this radio was released onto the market, without Wouxun bothering to supply any form of programming software. It's a rushed abortion, rather reminiscent of the days of simple home-computers. Sold without proper handbook and a lack of software.
In all honesty and with nearly 50 years experience in all forms of two-way radio. I cannot recommend this radio to anybody. Unless and until a proved and reliable programming software is produced by Wouxun.
My comment above about it having been released onto the market is wrong.
It's more like it escaped.
