Sturdy rotator but a fiddle making connector
Review by
Tim
This is my second G-1000DXC, and I have been very pleased with them. I like the ability to adjust the speed, set a preset and have some overlap (although I wish this overlap were split equally around the STOP point -instead of when you reach it after a full rotation).
My only complaints about Yaesu rotators are the difficulty getting spares (such as the potentiometer that breaks after a couple of years).
I find making up the cable tricky - to do it properly requires a crimp tool to attach the pins, and they can pop out under strain from the wire. I would have preferred a more sturdy connector that clamps the cable at the controller end.
Overall, it's a high-quality rotator that will give you many years of service if treated well. A thrust bearing is essential to take the strain off the casing.

Initially very pleased with, rotation speed, presetting ability etc but now I need a replacement pot for the rotator I find there very difficult to find. This is perhaps the most vunerable part
