A useful addition to a short field day!

I got this for when I go to classic car and military vehicle shows, where I can whack it into the ground and have a quick set up to pass the time with a QSO! Who says men can’t multitask!!
I set it up in my garden to test it out and listened to a Ukrainian talking to an American on an Ampro HF whip on 15mtrs !!

Used it for the first time last weekend with a couple of Ampro antennas worked a treat in soft ground, I purchased two wing nuts and washers so as to attach my counterpoise radials to the bolt ends which got my SWR down to 1:2 very good addition to my portable gear

Excellent for setting up a quick mobile antenna

This is great for the Ampro range of antennas. It allows quick and easy set-up when going mobile. Nice sturdy earth stake and fitting connection. My only wish would be to sell it with the option of not including the coaxial cable (which would make it cheaper as most hams will already have coax). Otherwise excellent.

Useful and well built

I brought one of these as an option for working portable with a ampro whip. So far I'm impressed with it. Its a solid build made of approx 5mm plate and an equally solid approx 600mm long 12mm diameter copper stake. So I expect it to handle some 'abuse'.
There is some excess thread on the bolts, although not as much as the photo shows. But there is still enough excess thread to attach radials or to use it as an earth for another antenna if desired, so not a big issue.
It's a quick and easy way of setting up a ampro or similarly threaded antenna. I've not had it long but I have been able to listen in to 80m and on 20m heard the US and Australia. So a promising start.

Great idea

Tried mine out on 40m today. Cable out of the window to the (tiny) front lawn , lots of signals, not too much noise. Quite pleased with it really. Did a bit FT8 while it was set up, not a band I can normally use so not sure what to expect but that’s the point really - it’s a quick way to get on a band if you have the appropriate AmPro whip.
Need to buy some more whips.
